Mary Kerr is a seasoned film professional with over 20 years experience in the documentary field. In 2017, she followed her passion and moved full time into film editing and has worked as Editor or Assistant Editor on Qatar Stars (dir. Danielle Beverly), Simple as Water (dir. Megan Mylan), Boycott (dir. Julia Bacha), Officially Amazing; The Frank Duncan Story (dir. Alexandra Berger & Avi Weider), Hold Your Fire (dir. Stefan Forbes), amongst others.
Mary also produced the documentaries Instructions on Parting (dir: Amy Jenkins, premiered at MoMA’s Doc Fortnight, 2018) and One Cut, One Life (dir: Lucia Small and Ed Pincus, screened at New York Film Festival, 2014). She previously served as Executive Director of the Robert Flaherty Film Seminar, held leadership positions at Creative Capital and Scandinavia House, and has programmed for the Sundance, Los Angeles, and Silverdocs film festivals. She has served on funding panels for the NEA, NYSCA, ITVS, and POV, and juries for the Ashland, Full Frame, Sarasota, and Nordisk Panorama film festivals, amongst others. Mary is based in Brooklyn, NY.
